Frequently Asked Questions

What type of training do you provide?

The foundation of all of our programming for clients primarily revolves around strength training at the level they are currently capable of. Given that strength training creates a foundation for almost all other athletic qualities, we make that the main focus. In addition, we implement injury preventative and mobility based movements to complement and enhance our ability to move gracefully.

What level of training do I need to be at to start?

The short answer is: any level! Here at Dynamic Strength, we believe that strength training can enhance everyones life, no matter their current abilities or life circumstances. Older individuals who live a more sedentary life, for example, will benefit greatly when learning how to move efficiently, safely, and building the strength to live the life they want to live. For a more experienced lifter or fitness enthusiast, we build upon that base to minimize imbalances, improve performance, and create a well-rounded program.

Does Dynamic Strength offer home training?

Yes, while Dynamic Strength primarily works out of “PerformanceGaines” in Palo Alto, we also offer training within the comforts of your own home! Even with minimal equipment and space, we will work within those limits to provide complete full-body training.

Do you offer training on weekends?

At this time, Dynamic Strength does not currently provide training on weekends. However, weekday availability is maximized from 8:00AM-5PM, allowing most people to find a workout schedule that works within their day to day life. We understand life can get hectic and time constricted, and do our best to accommodate the busy schedules of silicon valley professionals.

How can I schedule a session with you?

Before we have our first session, we will plan a complementary phone or in-person consultation to dive deeper into what you are looking for in regards to training. After learning more about your goals and scheduling a timeline to reach them, we will setup a time for our first session. Please fill out the form under “Contact” or email us directly with available times that work best for you.

How do you determine what we do in our sessions?

Programming for our first session is based off of what you are looking to improve and starts with basic movements that assess your current fitness level, abilities, and potential limitations. From there, we develop a game plan to reach your goals through a safe and efficient path. We do not go from 0-100% right off the bat, and instead build up gradually in our training over time by assessing weaknesses and focus on the end goal.

Do you offer independent programming separate from personal training sessions?

Yes, we offer fully customized programming on a monthly basis through Everfit, an online training software that allows you view and complete training programs from their app on your phone. Programs are updated on a 4-6 week basis, making adjustments based on your level of progress and adherence. Programming can be done completely independently, or in addition to our in person sessions at no extra cost. This option is great for those who prefer training in person once per week as opposed to multiple, as the independent workouts will complement what we work on in person together.

How much does personal training cost?

Currently, personal training sessions are purchased on a monthly basis under a subscription that adheres to a weekly number of allotted sessions. Our hourly session rate equals out to $200 per hour, however we think of the subscription as paying for the experience of working with your coach for that month(s). This includes checking in on nutrition, sleep, and any questions you might have through text with a response time of 24 hours or less. Our most common subscription is 2x per week to allow for a consistent strength program, followed by the 2nd most common choice at once per week + additional programming. This equals out to either $1600 or $800 per month, respectively.

What if I miss a session that is included in my subscription? Do you have a cancellation policy?

If you miss a session, don’t worry! As long as you give 24 hours notice, we accommodate makeup sessions that can be completed within 90 days of the original session date. For example, if you are on a 2x per week plan and miss one week, we will plan for 3x per week for the following two weeks. It is up to the client to reach out for rescheduling and makeup times.
